Il faut bien se rendre compte que l&#8217;exp\u00e9rience est <strong>exceptional <\/strong>for them; Lorena can't even swim! So we spend the day with them explaining how we live with three people in 25m\u00b2. We also put the coffee in a protected corner in the boat, under my bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the evening, Lorena cooks us delicious fish. Like what, whether it is on the land or at sea, a great cook remains a great cook. Traverser le Pacifique est une autre paire de manches que l&#8217;Atlantique et ne s&#8217;improvise pas. D\u00e9j\u00e0, la travers\u00e9e se fait <strong>in two parts<\/strong> : un premier voyage jusqu&#8217;aux Iles Marquises puis un second jusqu&#8217;en Nouvelle-Cal\u00e9donie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\">Why in two steps? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Car l&#8217;oc\u00e9an Pacifique est trois fois plus grand que l&#8217;Atlantique et que sinon nous n&#8217;aurions pas assez de nourriture ni d&#8217;eau pour traverser. C&#8217;est aussi car le temps total de travers\u00e9e est de deux mois et demi et que faire une premi\u00e8re pause aux Marquises, apr\u00e8s un mois et demi de mer nous semble obligatoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, how do you prepare for a crossing? For us, it will have started with <strong>scoop the water out of the boat<\/strong>&#8230; En effet, lorsque nous \u00e9tions \u00e0 terre, nous avions laiss\u00e9 les hublots ouverts et malheureusement, un orage tropical a \u00e9clat\u00e9. Nous sommes donc \u00e0 terre, impuissants, \u00e0 voir le bateau se faire remplir. Apr\u00e8s les 4 heures de pluie intense, nous nous rendons compte de l&#8217;ampleur des d\u00e9g\u00e2ts&#8230; Tous les fonds de cale sont remplis, les affaires tremp\u00e9es, la nourriture mouill\u00e9e, &#8230; Nous sommes d\u00e9pit\u00e9s ! Nous passerons donc une soir\u00e9e et le lendemain matin \u00e0 tout nettoyer. Chaque jour, nous allons \u00e0 terre pour travailler sur Jybe et nous fermons tout herm\u00e9tiquement et, chaque jour, une tr\u00e8s grosse pluie s&#8217;abat sur Golfito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les \u00e9clairs tombent juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la ville, le vent est si fort que les parasols du restaurant s&#8217;arrachent et nous ne voyons plus ce qui se trouve derri\u00e8re le rideau d&#8217;eau. Cela signifie aussi qu&#8217;\u00e0 chaque fois, nous devons \u00e9coper l&#8217;annexe qui n&#8217;est pas abrit\u00e9e au port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But let's get back to the facts: how do you prepare for a Pacific crossing? It's done in three big blocks: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Technical preparation of the sailboat;<\/li><li>Provisioning;<\/li><li>Associative work.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We start with the associative part with Lucas. We contact New Caledonia, we revive the French contacts, Lucas works on the website and the partnerships to come... Parce que le p\u00e2t\u00e9 c&#8217;est bon, nous nous transformons en charcutier et faisons les premiers p\u00e2t\u00e9s de porc et foie-de-b\u0153uf cuv\u00e9e sp\u00e9ciale Noddi !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>April 3, Emilien <strong>finally returns to the boat.<\/strong> Quelle joie&nbsp;! Nous sommes comme des enfants heureux. \u00c7a fait du bien de se retrouver \u00e0 trois apr\u00e8s autant de temps s\u00e9par\u00e9. L&#8217;\u00e9quipe est au complet et les choses s\u00e9rieuses commencent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lucas continue le travail administratif et les partenariats pour Jybe, tandis qu&#8217;Emilien pr\u00e9pare le voilier pendant que j&#8217;installe des \u00e9quipements \u00e9lectriques. Nous faisons aussi l&#8217;inventaire de la nourriture pr\u00e9sente histoire de faire un ravitaillement efficace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The departure is getting closer but we are <strong>more and more ready<\/strong>. L&#8217;exp\u00e9rience de l&#8217;Atlantique nous a bien servis et nous <strong>avoid the traps<\/strong> into which we had fallen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;envie de partir se fait aussi sentir. Nous savons ce qui nous attend de l&#8217;autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 et nous avons h\u00e2te d&#8217;y \u00eatre. Nous savons que cette travers\u00e9e sera la plus longue et la plus \u00e9prouvante mais nous sommes pr\u00eats. Nous avons t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9 des tonnes de musique, de podcasts et de films en tout genre.
